So yes, you can purchase bonds with your in-game gold. Otherwise, if you're more for gameplay and want to just to get to end-game without these tedious grinds, just make a main account, as you can find plenty to grind as is.Īs for ironman purchasing bonds, they're the only item that you can purchase on the grand exchange. If you're someone that's fine with investing an immense amount of time into gradual progress and can get past setbacks, ironman is a fulfilling experience imo. This is on top of fixed grinds that many people will find unappealing, like needing to get 90+ crafting and 78 herblore for some end-game gear and raids. Sometimes you'll get a really cool rare item and other times you'll be that guy that just can't get Rigour or something. Your account is your own journey, and even though you can follow a roadmap made by another player, you're going to have a different experience set by RNG. If you make an ironman account, you need to go in with the mindset that there will be setbacks. You don't need either of these items, but they're incredibly powerful items that makes end-game content more accessible. If you look around the iron subreddit, you'll run into a dozen posts about either getting spooned or going dry by 2x, 3x or even 4x the drop rate. You'll need to come to terms with the fact that going dry is part of the game.įor instance, Enhanced Crystal Seed is a 1/400 drop rate on a 10 minute activity and the Dragon Warhammer is a 1/5,000 drop rate on a 150 health monster. I know it sounds obvious, but many people will de-iron when they hit a significant dry streak and cannot hit one or two things they deem essential to reaching end-game content. Imo, Ironman is a more fulfilling experience (as an experienced player), but you will experience significant setbacks stemming from needing to do everything yourself.
